Meet Ron Chiverella Jr., a Construction Project Manager in our Professional Services division. Ron has been with the company since 2022, and he is based out of our Mechanicsburg, PA office. He supports client’s needs across the United States.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR CAREER PATH AND WHAT LED YOU TO YOUR CURRENT ROLE?
I’ve always been intrigued by how things work—taking them apart, understanding them, and putting them back together. I first got my feet wet in the paging industry on the sales management side. As the cellular industry started to take off and paging began to decline, I found my way into the PCS world. From there, I had the opportunity to step away from sales and learn the technical side as a field technician, helping fix and optimize the network. I took advantage of every opportunity to learn, grow, and take on new challenges. I literally started at the bottom with no field experience and worked my way into more senior roles and eventually into management. Because I’ve always enjoyed special projects, moving into project management was a natural next step. It has been an amazing ride!
WHAT KINDS OF EDUCATION OR ON THE JOB TRAINING HAVE HELPED YOU BE SUCCESSFUL IN YOUR CURRENT JOB?
I have been in the industry almost 30 years, and through the years I’ve completed many project management and team leadership, sales, RF, and industry courses. Most of the training has actually come on the job along with having great mentors and leaders.
WHAT CHARACTERISTICS DO YOU THINK ARE NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN YOUR ROLE?
I’m a very competitive person with a strong drive to continue to grow. What has driven my success is a genuine hunger to learn and the confidence to ask questions. In a fast-changing industry, I understand that growth is continuous—and I’m committed to staying ahead.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY AT WORK LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?
There really isn’t a typical day, and that’s one of the things I enjoy most about the role. Each day brings something different coordinating with teams, supporting clients, solving issues, tracking project progress, and making sure things keep moving forward. It keeps me on my toes, and I like that I’m constantly learning, adapting, and helping get projects across the finish line.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?
I truly enjoy helping people. The relationships I build with my team and clients, and bringing projects to a strong finish, are what motivates me every day. I’m especially energized by tough challenges and being able to support others when they need it most. This industry has taken me all over the country and I’ve experienced so many great things.
HOW DO YOU LIKE TO SPEND YOUR TIME OUTSIDE OF WORK?
When I’m not spending time with family, friends, and my boxer Grazi, you’ll likely find me at the beach—ideally with a surf rod in hand. No matter the season, I enjoy getting outdoors, hitting the trails, and exploring new places in my Jeep. Staying active and discovering new experiences is something I truly enjoy.
TELL US A FUN OR SURPRISING FACT ABOUT YOU!
I’m blessed to say I’m in remission after battling Large B-Cell Lymphoma. The treatments were tough, and chemotherapy pushed me to my limits—but I pushed back harder. Every day is still a fight, and I have no intention of losing. It wanted a fight and I hit back.
